While we certainly hope and expect Patrick White to remain competitive in this race we will try to provide an accurate picture of what the current state of the Heisman Race is. This is likely due to the fact that although it is the team that fans generally cheer for & support, it is the individual players who often make the spectacular plays or have the unbelievable performances that catch everyone’s attention. Two-time Big East Player of the Year, Patrick White and his two-pronged assault, not only has West Virginia University (WVU) fans clamoring for a national title in 2009, but also has football fans throughout the world stating his case for this year’s Heisman Trophy. After all, White is WVU’s and the Big East’s all-time leading rusher among quarterbacks, far surpassing previous marks set by such quarterbacks as Donovan McNabb and Michael Vick, and is poised to set the all-time NCAA rushing record for a QB.
